Five operators including EE, O2, Three, Virgin and Vodafone have voluntarily agreed to cap stolen or missing mobile phone bills at £100 - provided a report is received by them or the police within 24 hours…
A new code of practice created by the Mobile Broadband Group, has stipulated measures to protect consumers from unexpectedly high bills. These include transparent pricing & billing; subscriber alerts when reaching &/or breaching agreed data limits; information on roaming charges and how to bar unauthorised calls to premium numbers and app. purchases.
In our opinion, these measures do not go far enough, but they are a start and any help & advice to consumers must be applauded…
