Switch,Switch,Switch!! BT increasing rates again..

If you're still with BT you only have yourselves to blame…

BT have announced they are increasing call charges for residential customers by up to 5% on 3 December 2011 - their second increase this year.

UK landline calls will go up from 7.6p a minute to 7.95p a minute. Line rental prices will also rise and ‘call-set-up fees’, i.e. one-off connection charges for any call made (not in an incl. call plan) will rise from 12.5p to 13.1p

NOTE: Our SimplyFone call rates to a UK landline in direct comparism are: 1.8p at peak times reducing to just 1.41p at weekend – both for home and business users & we do not normally levy any ‘call-set-up fees’.

Under the changes, the cost of BT line rentals for a residential customer paying by direct debit will rise by 70p to £14.60 a month, clients paying by cheque will see even greater increase!

NOTE: Our SimplyFone line rental rates in direct comparism are: £9.79p +vat and prices are for all clients irrespective of payment method…

Furthermore we do NOT charge any extra for ‘paper billing’.

The changes come after a 10% rise in call charges a year ago, and a 9% increase in April.
